White Button Mushrooms

Locally Grown, Pesticide Free, Super Fresh White Button Mushrooms

Sold in a quart size Basket

Mushrooms are very fragile, consume as quick as you can or store in a brown paper bag for up to 4 days. Do not wash them until you are about to cook them.

Here are some delicious recipes featuring white button mushrooms:

1. Garlic Butter Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound white button mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are golden and tender.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, then sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

2. Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound white button mushrooms, stems removed
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (or fresh herbs)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Fill each mushroom cap with the cheese mixture.
  4. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

3. Mushroom Risotto

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Arborio rice
  • 1 pound white button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups vegetable broth (warmed)
  • 1/2 cup white wine (optional)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  2. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the Arborio rice and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the white wine (if using) and cook until absorbed.
  5. Gradually add the warm vegetable broth, one ladle at a time, stirring continuously until absorbed before adding more.
  6. Continue until the rice is creamy and al dente, about 18-20 minutes.
  7. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

4. Creamy Mushroom Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound white button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or coconut milk for a lighter version)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh thyme for garnish (optional)
